Just quarter of an hour into Newcastle’s defeat to Arsenal at the weekend the hosts were down to ten men.
Young striker Aleksandar Mitrović was sent off after a horrible stamp on Francis Coquelin, and is set to miss the next three domestic fixtures. The young striker, signed from Anderlecht this summer, has failed to impress and the Geordies look set to sign another forward before the transfer window shuts.
According to Sky Sports News, that striker may well be Hamburger SV man Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

The most worrying thing is probably his relationship with his mother, who also happens to be his agent. The two are very close and for some reason, shared this moment during a photoshoot a couple of years ago. It’s probably best not to ask.
The forward is injury-prone but, when fit, has a pretty good scoring record in the Bundesliga. Still just 23, Lasogga clearly has bags of potential and has netted 24 goals in 69 appearances since joining Hamburg in 2013. Previously he played for capital side Hertha BSC, where his record was again impressive.
Overall the striker has averaged a goal every 200 minutes in his Bundesliga appearances despite playing for poor sides since the age of 19 and having severe fitness concerns. He really could be a valuable addition to Newcastle’s side.
