Jose Mourinho spoke ahead of our clash with the Blues on Sunday and made it clear that his team would be taking the pre-season match seriously.

Chelsea lost their pre-season friendly against New York Red Bulls 4-2 and are apparently looking to put things right by beating us.

Mourinho said that, although the match isn’t as important as say, a league match, it was more important than both teams’ previous pre-season games.

The Chelsea boss was also complimentary about our current squad, although he claims that he always thought we had a good squad and now we have the addition of Petr Cech, we’re even better.

Tension has always been high between Arsenal and Mourinho’s Chelsea, but after the 0-0 at the Emirates when ‘boring, boring Chelsea‘ rang out, the stakes appear to be even higher than they previously were.

Arsenal will be looking to grab a result. Although the most important aspect of pre-season matches like this is to see where we our in our preparation for the new season and see where we have to improve.
