Reports coming out of France are claiming that Manchester United have agreed terms with Monaco for Anthony Martial.

The 19-year-old ‘wonderkid’ is said to have agreed personal terms with Louis van Gaal’s side ahead of a move said to be costing the Manchester side €55m after an initial bid of €50m was rejected.

With the French side allegedly asking for €60m plus Marcos Rojo it’s not hard to see why Arsenal have never followed up their reported interest in the player after making an initial contact regarding the player some time.

While he may very well be incredibly talented, and Arsene Wenger is now not afraid to splash some cash, it’s hard to see him ever agreeing to pay what amounts to around £40m for a teenager. It’s utter madness for a player who has only played a total of 45 games in Ligue 1.

It’s worth noting that these reports, which were picked up by GFN, stemmed from Le Parisien and it is far from a done deal.

Regardless of that, it is the sort of stupid fee that Manchester United would happily pay so I wouldn’t expect to see Arsenal trying to derail the transfer at any point.
