Former Real Madrid star, Kaka, has admitted that he doesn’t believe his old club will allow Karim Benzema to move to Arsenal.

The 33-year-old, who now players for MLS club, Orlando City, believes his former teammate is one of the best forwards in the world and reckons the La Liga giants won’t be willing to part with him easily.

“I think Benzema is one of the best forwards at this moment so I don’t think Real Madrid will give him away so easily,” Kaka said. “But Karim Benzema is a very good player and if he can have the opportunity to go to Arsenal then Arsenal will take a very, very good player.”

Kaka scored 29 goals in his 120 appearances for Madrid, while Benzema has netted 134 in 281. 22 of those came last season in only 46 appearances, which is staggering. There’s no doubt in my mind that if we put him in front of our midfield, he would score. It’s just a given.

However, as Kaka mentioned, whether Madrid would be willing to sell him is another issue. There’s been talk of the Frenchman being unhappy due to his inconsistent game time and it seems this is what sparked rumours that he could be on his way out of the club.

Whether we’re genuinely interested in him or not remains to be seen. New reports are emerging everyday that we’re getting closer and closer to signing him, but other than media talk, there seems to be very little substance.

We shall see.
