Unfortunately I’m about to give Manchester United fans something to shout about.

According to Independent Hearing Professionals those at Old Trafford were the loudest in the Premier League last season, despite only finishing fourth.

Arsenal fans, usually dismissed as quiet, actually made the Emirates Stadium the seventh loudest in the league. Roaring on the likes of Alexis Sánchez (and, let’s be honest, berating referees) Gooners generated 158 decibels.

Meanwhile only Aston Villa and West Ham fans were quieter than those at Anfield. We are constantly told about the famous Kop but, despite having the sixth biggest stadium in the league Liverpool fans were the third quietest.
