Abou Diaby is set to make his debut for Marseille within the next month as the midfielder looks to rebuild his career after leaving Arsenal in the summer.

Still a player we here at Daily Cannon have great fondness for, the Frenchman decided to cut ties with Arsenal in a bid to put his injury problems behind him and get a fresh start before he was out of time.

Struggling to ever recover properly from the tackle that ruined his career not long after he arrived in London, he had so much potential, unlike the oaf that crippled him.

Now, speaking at a press conference, his new coach is hopeful that he will be back playing soon.

“I spoke with him again this morning,” Michel said on Wednesday. “He has many desires. I think he can start playing matches within two to three weeks.”

Signing a one-year deal with the French side, Diaby admitted that his decision was swayed by the club that could support him the best medically.

Despite interest from a number of other clubs, including West Brom, Diaby opted to return to his homeland and hopefully we can all get to see him in action on a regular basis – even if that isn’t in an Arsenal shirt.
