Arsenal winger Wellington Silva is pretty unlikely to have a future at the club, having returned from  a series of loan spells in Spain to be completely ignored this pre-season.

The Brazilian-born left-winger spent last season at Almeria but doesn’t find himself in Arsène Wenger’s plans and is finally attracting interest to go out on loan.

The Brazilian has an English work permit which he didn’t have when Arsenal signed him, so he can now play in this country. However, Bild are reporting that Bundesliga side Hertha BSC are interested in the winger.

The Berlin club look pretty lacklustre going forward and could do with someone of Wellington’s pace, but Bild (above) also say that Arsenal would prefer to loan him to a Championship club to see him perform in England.

Well then, step up Bolton Wanderers.

If Arsenal would prefer a loan move and a move to the Championship then this would make sense.

The Gunners already have seven players on loan in the Championship, and seem to be more intent on using England’s second division as a proving ground for young talents coming through.

If Wenger sees any Arsenal future for Wellington, a loan to Bolton would probably be as good a switch as any to let him prove himself.
