Jon Toral is making a terrific impression while on loan at Birmingham city after scoring two goals in as many appearances.

The 20-year-old, who’s joined the Championship side on loan until the end of the season, has made a fantastic start, playing over 70 minutes in both matches and scoring two great goals.

The Blue’s manager, Gary Rowett, is delighted with how the loan spell is going for the youngster, saying, “I was pleased with Jon, he has an instinct to get into those positions.

“And when he gets into goalscoring positions, he has got real composure.

“That’s two in two league games now, and that’s why we brought him in,” he continued. “We felt we needed a little bit more of a threat in those front areas, in terms of our goal ratio.

“I am really pleased with the way he has started.”

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Brentford and ended up appearing 37 times and scoring six goals. However, Wenger obviously still felt the youngster needed some competitive experience before integrating him within the senior squad.

If he can carry on this season in the form he’s been displaying, he could become a huge feature in next year’s pre-season. However, at the moment, it’s vital that he just soaks up the playing time and makes the most of the first team football on offer.
