An Arsenal u19 squad is currently in Durban playing an international tournament, and made the final today with a penalty shootout win over VfB Stuttgart.

The semi-final saw the Gunners draw 1-1 in normal time, with former RC Lens winger Yassin Fortune scoring before Berkay Ozcan equalised for the German side.

The game went to penalties and goalkeeper Ryan Huddart saved twice from the spot, allowing Gedion Zelalem to step up and send the Gunners into the final.

Zelalem hadn’t started the game but came off the bench late on as the tie looked destined to go to penalties. Also coming off the bench was highly-rated youngster Chris Willock, who travelled to Singapore with the first team last month.

Arsenal will now face PSV Eindhoven in the final of the tournament on Saturday. The group stage saw the Gunners lose to the Dutch side but a win against Celtic and a draw against the KNV Academy was still enough to send Arsenal through.

The final provides a perfect chance to make up for the group stage loss, as well as start the season in fantastic fashion. Much of the squad will be playing for the Arsenal u21 team this season and must be aiming to better the fourth place finish in Premier League Division 2 last season.
