Arsenal have been linked with yet another midfielder, this time Cagliari youngster Godfred Donsah – and not for the first time.

According to London 24, Donsah’s agent, Oliver Arthur, stated that four big Premier League clubs were interested in his client’s services – one of which was Arséne Wenger’s side.

Manchester City, Liverpool and our London rivals Tottenham have also been mentioned as the involved parties who are eager to strike up a deal for the £10million-rated midfielder.

Donsah, who is predominantly a CDM but can play at CM or as a makeshift right-back, boasts the type of versatility top teams look for in promising youngsters as they seek to mould them into world-class stars.

At 19, the Ghanaian has plenty of potential to fulfill and having broken onto the scene last term, he’ll be eager to take his opportunity to shine once it arrives.

He was often on the substitutes’ bench in the early weeks of the Serie A campaign last season, but was given his chance centre stage for Cagliari and hasn’t looked back. Despite only finishing 90 minutes a handful of times, he scored twice and also created an assist.

Having established himself as a mainstay in the midfield alongside Daniele Dessena and Lorenzo Crisetig, he wouldn’t come cheap – and his agent admitted that his client is “happy to hear of all this interest and the fact that his efforts are being noticed by bigger clubs.”

It’d be a case of where he’d get the most regular football, and although he’s talented it seems unlikely that Wenger would splash the cash given all of the midfield depth at his disposal already, and that’s not even considering those within the youth ranks at the moment who are out on loan.
