Apparent Arsenal target, Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko, has reportedly agreed a deal with Serie A team, Roma.

We’d already spoken about the unlikelihood of the forward coming to Arsenal but it seems the nail has well and truly been hammered into that coffin.

The 29-year-old was disillusioned with City after only appearing 32 times for them last season – considerably less times then he’d appeared every season since joining the Sky Blues, which was always 40+ (48 the season before last). His scoring stats had gone downhill (six goals in 32 games) due his lack of playing time and he was only getting to feature in the less-important fixtures.

The striker wanted playing time and City looked ready to sell. However, it was always doubtful they would sell to us and whether he could actually help our team. I seem to be in the minority of people who believe he could’ve actually been a good addition to the squad but I still never really saw it happening.

The Bosnian has now reportedly signed for Roma for a mere £16m – small change in today’s financial climate.
