Arsenal have been linked with a move for Roberto Jimenez Gago, Olympiacos’s shot-stopper.

Since sending Wojciech Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez out on loan, the Gunners have been rumoured to be interested in a few keepers and Gago has, once again, made his way into the media.

This isn’t the first time Arsenal have been linked with the 29-year-old Spaniard, first finding themselves paired with him in 2010 before he moved to Benfica.

Making 40 appearances for the Greek side last season, it would seem odd that he would give that up to come to London to be third choice. Would Arsenal sell David Ospina? That was also rumoured at the start of the season, but the Colombian has already stated that he wanted to stay at the club and fight for his place.

The Gago rumours seem to have started in Spain and spread across Europe, albeit sporadically, but there doesn’t seem to be anything of substance to them.

With Arsenal being linked to a few keepers, it does, however, raise more questions than answers, namely, what is going on in Arsene Wenger’s head?

Gago signed for Olympiacos at the start of last season after spending the season before on loan from Benfica.
