After a pretty serious-looking collision between Olivier Giroud and West Ham’s James Tomkins during Sunday’s match, it was thought that both players were out cold for a number of seconds.

Giroud was put into the recovery position and anxiety appeared to spread throughout the team.

Both players, despite looking shaken, played on, much to the confusion, and in some cases, anger, of many fans, who believed someone should have stepped in and removed the two footballers from the pitch.

However, Arsenal have been quick to try and set the record straight, claiming that Giroud was not unconscious. Although this doesn’t necessarily mean he wasn’t concussed, it’s still left many scratching their heads as to what we witnessed on Sunday considering it did, very much, look as if the striker was out for the count.
