Alexis Sanchez has rallied his followers online and urged people in power to make a difference by helping Tocopilla.

The Chilean’s home town has been struck by torrential rain and subsequent flooding, resulting in the loss of lives and catastrophic damage.

After hearing about his home town’s plight, the 26-year-old sent two lorries full of supplies in a bid to help.

In a recent Instagram post, Alexis urged people in power to continue to send aid and thanked them for what they have done so far.

A local newspaper said, “[Alexis] hasn’t forgotten about his land and that’s why he wanted to be involved. He spoke to us in order to send aid to the people of Tocopilla. We initially discussed bottled water, some basic first-aid products and clothing among other things and it’s already in the region.”

This kind gesture and the call for others to help the place he loves is touching and a real testament to his character.
