Serge Gnabry has not featured for Arsenal since March 2014 and, according to ESPN FC, could join West Brom on loan this summer.

With Arsène Wenger’s squad packed with attacking talent it is likely that Gnabry will be sent out on loan to play regular football at the highest level possible. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott will expect to feature more in the new season, while the manager also the the likes of Alexis Sánchez, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Özil, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck who can play in advanced midfield positions or on the wing.

With so much competition it is unlikely that Gnabry would get many minutes at Emirates Stadium, so a loan would be the best option for all parties. Arsenal will want to keep the highly-rated German for the future, but there just isn’t space for him right now.

West Brom may not be the ideal place for the player, with Tony Pulis’ approach to football well known. Having said that players like Jason Puncheon, Dwight Gayle and Yannick Bolasie shone under the conservative boss during his time at Crystal Palace. Pulis led Palace to safety in the 2013/14 season with some good football, but his West Brom side were more negative last year.

Hopefully a move to West Brom wouldn’t stifle Gnabry and he would be allowed to express himself. You get the impression that’s what he truly needs to flourish.
