Arsene Wenger is apparently considering selling Yaya Sanogo to French club Lille but needs some time to consider the offer.

Yaya Sanogo, who was out on loan to Crystal Palace last season, doesn’t look as if he’ll still be at Arsenal after this summer window and it seems to be just a matter of where he’ll go and for how long, rather than when. Lille have reportedly asked for his services but Wenger wants a period of reflection on the deal before committing.

The striker has only appeared for Arsenal 20 times since joining and these weren’t exactly during important matches. The 22-year-old found it difficult to really find his form and only managed to score one goal during his time with us.

At Crystal Palace, he didn’t have a huge impact either, only appearing 11 times for them and scoring once.

A loan move for Sanogo would be helpful in terms of personal development, but whether it’ll be useful to us in the long run is another matter. With the direction we’re heading in, will a season away really improve him that much to compete for a first team spot?
