Despite Theo Walcott making it reasonably clear that he wants to stay at Arsenal, he’s reportedly asking for more money.

The winger is hardly living off scraps as it is with his last contract apparently worth £90k a week. However, according to the Guardian, he now wants to increase this to a nice, round £100k. This is supposedly down to wanting to keep up with the rest of the team. For example, Mesut Ozil is reportedly on £180k and new man Alexis Sanchez £150k.

The report itself doesn’t include much substance behind the claims and only contains quotes from Walcott which we’ve already covered on Daily Cannon.

Although it doesn’t sound completely outlandish that the player would want a raise to keep in line with the other top players at the club, considering the upheaval over his last contract was reportedly down to the same issue, his lack of actual game time since he signed his last contract has been minimal. Therefore, to expect a vast pay increase after hardly doing anything would be a bit, for lack of a better word, cheeky.
