Arsenal legend Ian Wright is backing the club to win the league this season.

Wrighty, who scored 185 goals for the club, is a new pundit for Match of the Day and was asked about who will lift the Premier League title come May.

“I think Chelsea have to be favourites to win the league, but I’m going to go Arsenal,” said Wright

“I’m gambling a lot on their start, they started badly last season and I think they know now what it takes, especially with the run that they have, to put a run to gather and I think they can put a run together.”

Last season Arsenal were 11 points behind Chelsea after just eight games, leaving no chance to catch up. During 2014/15 the Gunners won all five of the corresponding fixtures that they start with this year.

“I’m gonna stick my neck out,” Wright continued. “I don’t care what people say about my bias, I am biased, I love the club and I’m going to go with Arsenal. I think they’re going to win the league this season.”
