After another strong season, Aaron Ramsey is sure that Arsenal will go on to compete for major honours.

So much so that he doesn’t feel the need to leave in order to challenge at the very top. The end of the season saw the Welsh midfielder linked with Barcelona, who won the Champions League in June to complete an historic treble.

National team manager Chris Coleman went on to say that the midfielder is good enough to play alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets but – while he is flattered – that talk doesn’t interest the Arsenal midfielder.

“Obviously it is very nice to hear that I have been linked with one of the best teams in the world,” Ramsey told Sky Sports.

“But I am under contract with Arsenal and feel that this team is definitely going places.”

Ramsey signed a new deal in March 2014 and still has three years to run on it. It’s clear right now that he is fully focused on success with Arsenal

“We have a fantastic few years ahead and hopefully we can go on and win a few things with Arsenal.”

The arrival of players like Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez have led to two consecutive FA Cup successes, and Ramsey is excited by the signing of Petr Čech, who he hopes can elevate the club even further.
