With his move to Turkey getting ever closer, Lukas Podolski is set to become the highest earner at Galatasaray.

Reports emerging from the country on Thursday claim that the German’s three-year deal will see him earn €4.5m (£3.195m) per year, on par with Wesley Sneijder. This would equate to just over £60k per week but is based on bonuses as well with the base salary being €3.25m (£2.3m/£44k per week).

The negotiations between Galatsaray and the German have been lengthy with most of the discussions involving his wages but it seems as if we could finally be coming to the end of one of the most boring transfer sagas in recent memory.

Arsenal, according to the report, were asking for £5m for Poldi who has one year left on his current deal, the Turks tried to negotiate this down to £2.5m so we can expect the clubs to meet somewhere in the middle.

Podolski is currently on ‘holiday‘ in Turkey and is expected to stay in the country until 5th July.
