Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina has said he is worried about facing new Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian teammates won’t come up against each other at the Community Shield this weekend as they have only just joined up with their clubs following the Copa América during the summer. It was heavily rumoured that Ospina would leave Arsenal this summer with Petr Čech joining from the Blues but he is now set to stay with Wojciech Szczesny heading out on loan.

Chelsea have signed Falcao on loan from Monaco after the striker disappointed at Manchester United last season, scoring just four times in 29 appearances. That didn’t scare off Chelsea, who will hope to get better form out of the striker.

International football has given Falcao an impressive record with 25 goals from 61 Colombia caps and Ospina is still concerned about facing his teammate as a result.

“Who would not worry about facing Falcao?! You do not know how to stop him. He can score at any time,” admitted the Arsenal goalkeeper. The quote is honest, but maybe it is too honest. It isn’t the sort of admission that will inspire confidence among Arsenal fans, fellow players and the manager.

“Falcao is very quiet. Besides being a great player, he is a great person and deserves good things.

“He has this new opportunity with an excellent team in Chelsea and I think that will be reborn after the difficult time he spent in Manchester.”

Well, let’s hope he isn’t reborn. And, as far as I am concerned, anyone who signs for Chelsea doesn’t deserve good things.
