In case you didn’t already know, the official Arsenal site has now confirmed that Lukas Podolski has indeed joined Galatasaray.

Although by now you must’ve been in serious denial if you didn’t believe the forward was leaving, considering it was confirmed by pretty much everyone on the planet, Arsenal have now officially confirmed that the out-of-favour German has departed.

As controversial as this might sound, and I don’t mean this as a personal attack on the player, I can’t help but think ‘good riddance‘. Everyone knew he was going – he hasn’t been an Arsenal player in my mind for a very long time – and when one particular transfer starts to drag on, it can become boring.

Everything about Podolski has become boring to me now. He was bored at Arsenal, we were bored with him being bored and dragging his feet around. We were bored with him stomping his feet when he wasn’t getting playing time.

I then become swiftly bored of hearing about his move to the Turkish league day in, day out.

Now, I’m surely going to grow bored of his obviously staged, hyping up of his new fans… but that’s for another post.

Saying all this, as has already been mentioned when the news broke, I do wish him the best, along with the rest of Daily Cannon, and hope he finds what he’s looking for at his new club.
