It seems Abou Diaby is a man in demand after being released by Arsenal this summer.

The midfielder, who has had the worst luck in the world when it comes to injuries, is wanted by fellow Premier League club, West Bromwich Albion, and now by Marseille.

Although West Brom’s interest came to light due to manager Tony Pulis confirming as much, Marseille’s interest seems new, yet unsurprising. The French team are said to be willing to sign the 29-year-old on a pay-as-you-play deal, due to his history with injuries.

Diaby has a bright future ahead of him and I’m glad to see such a buzz around acquiring his signature. Although we couldn’t get him to where he needed to be in terms of fitness to in order to play for our senior team, it doesn’t meant to say his career is over. Far from it.

Although the midfielder only got to feature 180 times during his 10 seasons with Arsenal, the flair, skill and potential he showed during those matches was incredible and whoever ends up with the Frenchman will be lucky to have him.
