Reports suggest that West Ham and Arsenal have finally held productive talks as the Hammers aim to sign Carl Jenkinson on another loan deal.

Last season Jenkinson started 29 Premier League games for West Ham and David Gold is eager to have him back at the club despite the managerial change they have undergone. Croatian coach Slaven Bilic has replaced Sam Allardyce, but that hasn’t change West Ham’s stance on the players.

According to the Guardian Jenkinson is expected to move to West Ham for another season long loan for the Hammers’ final season at Upton Park. West Ham are currently involved in Europa League qualifiers and having more players to add to the current squad will be a huge benefit to the club.

Arsenal face West Ham on the opening day of the Premier League season, but Jenkinson wouldn’t be eligible to play if he dis leave the Emirates Stadium.

Back at London Colney, Arsenal players are returning for pre-season but Jenkinson is still due some time off after representing England u21s at the European Championships.

If he does return to Arsenal he knows that he will be behind Héctor Bellerín, Mathieu Debuchy and possibly Calum Chambers in the pecking order, so it will benefit everyone for Jenkinson to be loaned out once more.

The 23 year-old Arsenal fan still has three years remaining on his contract and the club aren’t interested in letting him go permanently.
