Hull looked poised to land Isaac Hayden on loan from Arsenal according to a report in the Guardian.

Hayden is expected to sign for Steve Bruce’s men in the Championship for what would be his first loan spell away from the club.

Handed a new deal back in January 2014, Wenger is believed to rate the defensive midfielder, who can also play as a centreback, very highly and believes the time is right for him to leave the club to gain regular playing experience.

An unused sub with the senior team for the last 16 game against Bayern Munich in March 2014, Hayden has one first-team appearance for Arsenal – the League Cup win over West Brom in 2013.

Now 20, Hayden has been capped at every England level from u16 to u20 and a bright future is expected of him as Wenger looks to develop internal solutions to his defensive midfield ‘issue’.

Hayden has been at Arsenal since he was 15 after joining from Southend in 2008.

Wenger describes his key assets as being ‘concentration, intelligence and strength’.
