According to reports Arsenal have clinched the signing of highly-rated Dutch forward Donyell Malen.

The transfer window has already seen Yaya Sanogo leave London for a year on loan in Amsterdam, but Arsenal may now have the signature of Malen who is just 16 years old. The Ajax forward is quick and has reportedly agreed a scholarship deal with the Gunners.

You can see the striker in action below but, as ever with YouTube compilations, beware; video clips can give you a rough idea of a player but don’t get close to telling you how good he is.

Malen is represented by Italian agent Mino Raiola which says a lot of what is expected of him; the super agent also represents Zlatan Ibrahimović, Paul Pogba and Mario Balotelli.

Dutchman Andries Jonker is in charge of the Arsenal Academy and plenty of focus is on improving the youth teams at Arsenal. The likes of Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Yassin Fortune and Vlad Dragomir have already joined Arsenal from abroad this summer with the former impressing in the Emirates Cup on Sunday.

Recent seasons have only been underwhelming for Arsenal u21s and u18s but these new signings could provide the necessary boost to improve the quality of the side. It’ll certainly be more interesting to watch Arsenal in UEFA Youth League this season as the new look team is tested against the academies of the biggest clubs in Europe.
