On Sunday Daily Cannon reported on the news that Galatasaray are interested in Mathieu Flamini and now it seems a fee has been agreed for the player.

The defensive midfielder has entered into the final year of his contract and it was clear we weren’t going to extend it like we did with his teammate Mikel Arteta. Therefore, if we can get some money for him now, there’s no doubt in my mind that we’ll sell him.

According to the Express, the fee is around the £2.8m mark, which seems like a sensible amount considering how little we’re likely to play him next season and his age.

Last season, the 31-year-old was pushed out of the first team by young Francis Coquelin after injuries to both him and Mikel Arteta. Coquelin proved to be a good stand-in and went on to become a fan favourite.

In total, Flamini only made 33 appearances for us, mainly in the first half of the season and a lot of these involved him coming on late in the second half.

If he is leaving, which is looking likely, we wish him well.
