Amid claims that David Ospina has agreed a deal with Fenerbahce, it seems the Turkish team has wandering eyes.

Now, apparently they have their beady eyes on Guillermo Ochoa – Malaga’s keeper. In fact, Giuliano Terraneo, Fenerbahce’s sporting director, has confirmed interest saying, “We know he wants to leave, so we have our cards in hand. Let’s wait for the time and price to be right.”

Poor Ospina.

After signing for Arsenal only one season ago, it looked certain that the Colombian was off to pastures new after we signed Petr Cech from Chelsea. It looks unlikely that he’ll now get much playing time with the Gunners, since Wojciech Szczesny will probably take up the extra space on the bench and be introduced for cup matches.

It’s unfortunate that the Turkish team would make their interest known to the keeper before turning their attention very publicly elsewhere. Perhaps this is a tactic on their part to drive down potential wage demands out of desperation.

I truly wish Ospina the best and hope the situation ends with him getting what he wants.
