Supposed Arsenal target, Lyon midifielder Nabil Fekir, has shot down any rumours that he could be on his way to us by pledging his future to his current team.

We were linked with the 21-year-old back in the winter transfer window but whispers that he could be coming to Arsenal this summer have been relatively non-existent. However, just in case there was any doubt, Fekir has confirmed he will be remaining the Ligue 1 side and is looking at signing a new five year contract.

The attacking midfielder appeared for Lyon 39 times last season and scored 15 goals – a decent result for a youngster considering 13 of these came in Ligue 1 matches. He also assisted 13, which again, is superb.

On paper, he’s a typical Arsene Wenger signing. He’s a young, French attacking midfielder with bags of potential. However, if he’s already dedicated his future to Lyon, that ship’s probably already unfortunately sailed. You can’t win ’em all.
