It may surprise you to hear that Petr Cech, the world class goalkeeper and multiple trophy-winner, didn’t originally set out in life to be a football goalkeeper.

In fact, it seems that the 33-year-old didn’t want to be a footballer at all. Not at first, at least.

Apparently, Cech started off as a hockey goalie and, even when he  started to play football, he was a midfielder. However, one day he had to stand in as keeper in a football match and, as they say, the rest is history.
