The press in Colombia are claiming that Petr Cech asked for assurances that he would play 70% of Arsenal’s matches before signing for the club.

In a piece which claims that David Ospina is a target for Roberto Martinez and Everton, they ponder their compatriot’s future given the demands of the former Chelsea man.

It will come as no surprise to anyone that Cech asked to be assured of game time before signing. He was, after all, leaving Chelsea to get off the bench so he was never going to sign for another club just to sit on theirs.

Ospina seems set on staying and fighting for his Arsenal place but with Wojciech Szczesny still earmarked as the future number one despite what many reports would have you believe, it’s hard to see where Ospina fits, especially in a world which restricts squads to just 25 players.

It’s impossible to know if this report about Cech’s demands/requests is true but on the face of it, it would seem very likely.
