You may have seen Karim Benzema score a wonderful goal against Manchester City on Friday.

If you did you’re probably thinking current club Real Madrid would be mad to let him go and in that case you will find yourself agreeing with the striker’s agent.

Speaking to Bryan Swanson of SkySports the player’s representatives have strongly denied any speculation that he is willing to leave the Spanish capital.

Arsenal already have plenty of attacking options but it is widely believed that Arsène Wenger would still dip into the market if he considers anyone a big upgrade on his current players, which he would likely believe Benzema to be. The striker may not want to move but that wouldn’t stop it from happening with Real Madrid ruthless in their transfer policy.

Two years ago Arsenal snapped up Mesut Özil on deadline day after the German playmaker had insisted he wanted to stay and fight for his future at Real Madrid. That was irrelevant to the hierarchy of the club and someone had to leave as Gareth Bale and Isco were brought in.

This summer Benzema could find himself in a similar situation as new manager Rafa Benitez has to accommodate Cristiano Ronaldo as well as being told that, above all else, it is vital he gets the best out of Gareth Bale.

If these demands see Benzema pushed out of the team Arsenal are expected to make a move, and the striker wouldn’t have much choice if he wants to play regular football.
