Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette, has turned down the chance to move to Arsenal, or anyone else for that matter, during this transfer window.

The striker, who’s been linked with a move to the Emirates or Old Trafford recently, has confirmed he will be staying at the Ligue 1 team as he’s happy where he is.

In January, Arsenal legend Robert Pires made his feelings on the potential transfer clear, saying that the 24-year-old would be well-suited to the Gunner’s style of play and could slot effectively into our team. However, other than this, there wasn’t much noise surrounding him moving.

“I want to show those who think that I have my head elsewhere that I’m still here,” he said. “I have already said that I want to continue with Lyon. I have shown that I’m fully committed. It’s football that interests me, not money.

“I hope to have a strong season.”

Now, it’s been made clear that we won’t be signing the Frenchman and we can definitely rule that one out.

Lacazette starred in 40 matches for Lyon last season, scoring 31 goal – a huge stat, which makes you appreciate the fuss surrounding him. Perhaps he’s the type of player we’d go for in the future but right now, it seems he’s staying put.
