Arsenal have apparently made a considerable bid for Spanish 16-year-old, Oriol Busquets.

The midfielder, who currently plays for Barcelona, is said to have been on Arsene Wenger’s radar for a while and it appears now we’re willing to make a move, despite the youngster only recently signing a new deal with the Spanish team.

A recent signing we made from Barcelona at a similar age, Hector Bellerin, has gone on to earn a place in our starting 11. Although you can’t really compare the two players as Bellerin’s a right-back, Wenger eye for young talent is undeniable.

Going back further, we also signed Cesc Fabregas at the age of 16.

On one hand, the likelihood that we’re keeping an eye on a talented young box-to-box midfielder is high. On the other, he’s just signed a new deal with Barcelona and this could throw a spanner in the works.

Either way, he’s very young, and if Wenger truly wants him, I’m sure we’ll be lurking in the shadows for him for a couple of years… In the least creepy way possible.
