Arsenal and Manchester United are said to be battling for the services if Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The 20 year-old Serbian midfielder is currently at Genk, and impressed during his first season in Belgium’s top division. Able to play anywhere in central midfield, he is said to be physical – drawing some comparisons with Chelsea star Nemanja Matic.

Last season in his first year in what is closer to a ‘major’ league, the midfielder featured in 24 games for Genk and managed to get his name on the scoresheet on five occasions.

According to Tuttomercatoweb Lazio have already had a bid of over £4M rejected for the midfielder, but Arsenal and Manchester United are interested and – considering their financial muscle – could pay whatever Genk want if they are serious about signing the midfielder.

However, Metro say that both English clubs have only made enquiries at this point.

Nemanja Matic is just the type of player Arsenal need but was nowhere near the finished article at 20 years of age. If his compatriot is of a similar mould a move would be worth it for Arsenal, who are on the lookout for a midfielder this summer.

The young Serbian, who was born in Spain, featured heavily in the Serbia side which recently won the u20 World Cup.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – remember the name. If you can. I’ve been copying and pasting it for this entire thing.
