Reports are emerging that Arsenal have agreed to sell Joel Campbell to Besiktas.

Despite the young star’s potential, he didn’t manage to break into our first team and has spent most of his time with us out on loan. He’s been to Lorient, Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal all since 2011 and now the 23-year-old appears to have grown a little impatient. Fortunately for him the Turkish club Besiktas are willing to offer £3.5m for him and it looks likely that Arsene Wenger will accept.

The winger only managed to appear for us 10 times, including the Community Shield, and didn’t manage to score at all.

I’m sure the Costa Rican has a bright future ahead of him. He’s still young and has shown, when playing for his national team, that he’s more than capable of performing on the pitch. He just never managed to hit his stride with us, which is a shame.
