Jack Wilshere loves a bit of controversy, and this time he could be in danger of upsetting his own fans with choices in a best XI of players he has played with.

The England star plumped for a number of Premier League rivals as well as players who left Arsenal in less than ceremonial fashion rather than his choosing his current teammates.

Some notable omissions from the current side are Per Mertesacker, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Özil while disgraced England star John Terry got the nod.

Ex-Arsenal teammates Cesc Fàbregas and Samir Nasri did make Wilshere’s XI despite the sour terms they departed on, and were joined by Bacary Sagna. Ashley Cole played with Wilshere for England but also left Arsenal on a low note, forcing a move to London rivals Chelsea after a contract dispute.

Current squad members Laurent Koscielny, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sánchez also made the cut.

The best XI Jack Wilshere has ever played with?

Joe Hart; Bacary Sagna, John Terry, Laurent Koscielny, Ashley Cole; Samir Nasri, Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fàbregas, Santi Cazorla; Alexis, Wayne Rooney.
