Arsenal have already been linked with Geoffrey Kondogbia in this transfer window, and the rumours won’t be going away anytime soon.

As we have already covered, Gianluca Di Marzio has recently claimed that the AS Monaco midfielder is wanted by Arsenal, with the French club willing to negotiate.

Sport Witness are now saying that the stories surrounding the player all seem to match up.

Claim

French magazine Le10 Sport said back in May that Arsenal’s interest in the big midfielder is concrete, and that there was a €35M offer on the table from an English club.

We can be pretty sure that this isn’t true – it is highly unlikely Monaco’s asking price is any higher than that and any offer of that amount would surely have gone through by now?

But, as Sport Witness have said, the magazine seem to have a good sources within the game in France.

Previous claims which were laughed off have included Manchester United’s pursuit of Radamel Falcao, as well as their enquiry for PSG defender Marquinhos.

Interest

It seems that more than one club is interested in Kondogbia, with Inter Milan sniffing around the Frenchman. The Italians are, however, unlikely to pay the asking price.

An asking price which seems more or less set in stone – if assumed nobody actually tabled of a bid of €35M, it isn’t much of a leap to suggest that it’s what Monaco are looking for.

Arsenal probably have a number of options right now, and it seems increasingly likely that Geoffrey Kondogbia is – if a bit expensive – one of them.
