Nacho Monreal was the most accurate passer of the ball in last season’s Champions League.

Coming in with a passing accuracy of 96.89%, he was above the likes of Asier illarremendi and Toni Kroos, with Per Mertesacker in fourth place with 95.07%.

Of course, it’s easy to dismiss stats like this by virtue of the position the two Arsenal men occupy, no doubt Illarremendi and Kroos were attempting far more difficult passes, but we’re not going to do that.

We’re going to take the stats as more evidence of the awesomeness of the two Gunners.

Nacho Monreal enjoyed his best season at Arsenal since arriving at the club in 2013, ousting Kieran Gibbs from the left-back slot and even getting himself on the scoresheet at Old Trafford.

Highly sought after by Athletic Bilbao, Monreal has confirmed that he has no desire to leave Arsenal and actually wants to extend his current deal which expires in 2016 (although Arsenal are believed to have an option to extend it by a further year).
