With the news that Arsenal had released a number of players, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill has wasted no time in finding a new club.

The 20-year-old left-back was released by the Gunners and looks set to become Swindon Town’s first signing of the summer.

Taking to his Facebook, Ormonde-Ottewill said “Happy I’ve done my time at Arsenal, had some good times there and going to miss the boys, but things move and I’m happy to have signed for Swindon and finally can gain 1st team experience and fight for my place. New chapter.”

The post was captured by the Gazette and Herald but seems to have been removed from the player’s facebook, perhaps because Swindon have not yet confirmed the deal.

Elsewhere, Burton Albion are considering making a move for Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. The former Arsenal youngster is out of contract after being released by Bristol City despite scoring 12 goals for the side. Originally linked with a move with QPR, that deal is said to have broken down and the 24-year-old forward is now being linked with a move to Jimmy Floyd Hasslebank’s side.
