First Team Physio Declan Lynch has left Colin Lewis’ medical staff for Bath Rugby Club.

Having spent the last three years with Arsenal, Declan Lynch has certainly been busy.

Lynch arrived from the London Irish Rugby Club in the Summer of 2012. Since that time he and his colleagues have assisted 36 different Arsenal players’ return to the pitch from 237 separate injuries.

Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott have publicly shown their appreciation for Declan Lynch’s work. After a season of almost constant recovery, the pair sought Lynch out to thank him following their triumphant returns against West Bromwich Albion.

“Declan’s going to be truly missed,” Walcott told Sky Sports following that match. “He’s moving on but he’s a man I’ve got to know very closely through the rehab on my knee. He’s a great personality, a great man and a great physio. He’ll be truly missed and will never be forgotten.”

Colin Lewis’ first-team medical staff still retains physios Ben Ashworth, who arrived about the same time as Lynch, and Andrew Rolls, who came to Arsenal in January 2014.

One can only assume that the position left open by Declan Lynch will be filled over the summer.
