Huddersfield Town have confirmed that physio James Haycock has left the club to join the medical team at Arsenal.

You probably remember the final Premier League game of the season, when Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott both went over to the bench to hug Declan Lynch, who has left Arsenal for a role at Bath Rugby Club.

Well, presumably, Haycock is his replacement. The statement released on the official Huddersfield website read:

“James Haycock, Town’s Head of Medical and First Team physio, is leaving to join Premier League Arsenal’s medical team, working under Head Physio Colin Lewin.

“James joined the Club from Hartlepool United in July 2012, shortly after the appointment of Simon Grayson and the Club’s subsequent promotion to the Championship.

“James is a popular and respected member of the Technical Staff at Huddersfield Town and everyone at the Club would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him well with the FA Cup holders.”
It is evident that Declan Lynch was a popular man among the players, which suggests he was very good at his job.
That should be no concern with Haycock who clearly had a top role at the Championship club and has been identified as the right man for the role.
