Gonzolo Higuian has been linked with Arsenal again – what a surprise.

I have this vision of Higuain endlessly circling London Colney every transfer window because, according the most of the media, he’s always having a medical or on the cusp of signing for us.

Like clockwork, the Napoli forward has been linked with a move to the Gunners and the reports are just more of the same. Just as they have been since the first time we were linked with him – when dinosaurs still roamed the earth.

It emerged on Sunday that the 27-year-old has allegedly told bosses of the Italian team that he wants to leave this summer. However, since, the club have issued a statement claiming the club want €95m for the player – small change then.

Although it’d be beneficial for the club to get another top striker, I’m not completely sure he’s better than Olivier Giroud. I remember when we signed the Frenchman we were also linked with Higuain and many were comparing the two players, saying there wasn’t much point getting one if we have the other since they’re similar in playing style and stature.

Saying this, the forward netted 29 goals and grabbed 11 assists in 58 appearances for Napoli this season. Those are impressive stats no matter which way you look at it.

If we were to sign him, I think he’d be a great addition, but I don’t see it happening. Especially not for €95m.
