Just when we thought David Ospina was on his way to Fenerbahce, it seems he could be off to France instead.

We previously reported on the strong possibility that the Colombian goalkeeper could be on his way to the Turkish league. The possible signing of goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea left him disappointed after he felt he’d done enough last season to secure the position of first choice goalkeeper long term.

Instead, it seems the 26-year-old could be on his way to Marseille instead, with the French club predicted to launch a bid soon.

The story appears to have originated in the Metro and doesn’t seem to have been picked up by many other news outlets. There’s no information on how much they’re willing to bid, except that Fenerbache are willing to pay €5.6m and you’d imagine, if Marseille are interested, they’ll match it or go higher. According to one report, the player is open to the move.

With this in mind, I’m although almost certain Ospina’s on his way to Fenerbahce and any Marseille interest might be is fleeting, if not non-existent, either move would be great for him.
