Galatsaray have admitted that they wanted to sign Lukas Podolski with their manager claiming he is on their wish list.

This is in complete contrast to the board member of the club who recently said that Poldi wasn’t a priority for theTurkish side.

“Podolski and Gignac are both on our wishlist,” Gala’s coach, Hamza Hamzaoglu told NTV Sport. “We have not begun direct negotiations.”

His comments regarding negotiations would tally with what Podolski himself said recently, the World Cup winner admitting that he would consider a move to Turkey after discussing it with his family – as long as the conditions were agreeable.

Speaking after Germany’s demolition of Gibraltar in Euro qualifying on Saturday, Poldi confirmed that he would only return to the Bundesliga to play for FC Koln.

What’s also notable is that he has stopped talking about having unfinished business at Arsenal and now seems focused only on leaving.

With one year left on his contract I don’t think either the player nor Arsenal wish to see that just run down on the bench.
