Although the Petr Cech deal is predicted to be announced on Monday, many of us were under the impression that his coach, Christophe Lollichon, would also be joining the Gunners.

However, this doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment.

Speaking recently, the top goalkeeping coach said, “For now, it does not matter. No contact has been made.”

He continued, “I do not know if this has been discussed between the two clubs, but I do not think Chelsea will be favourable.”

Lollichon has been with Cech since he was at Rennes and the coach is sure to have been an integral part of his career. When the news broke that Cech was supposed to be on his way to the Emirates, it was assumed he’d be bringing his top man with him, considering that’s what he’s done in the past.
It’ll be a shame if the coach isn’t allowed to move with the player, seeing as they’re obviously a good match and are bound to have a close bond from working together for over a decade. It’s also a little strange – and telling – that Chelsea would allow the goalkeeper to leave but not his coach.

What could be happening, however, is Arsenal are just waiting to finalise the Cech deal before extending the invitation.
