Group A and B have delivered their verdict and tournament favourites Germany go through while New Zealand and Cote D’Ivoire go home.

Group A

Germany 4 Thailand 0 Leupolz, Petermann x2, Dabritz

Norway 3 Cote d’Ivoire 1 Hegerberg x 2, Guldbrandsen ; N. Ange

Germany topped the group on goal difference, all their goalscorers on the day were youngsters aged 21 or younger.

Norway go through as runners-up. Cote d’Ivoire scored their first ever World Cup goal by N. Ange.

Thailand will have to wait for the best third place competition.

Group B

Canada 1 Netherlands 1  Lawrence ; Van de Ven

China 2  New Zealand 2 Wang LS (pen) , Wang SH SH ;  Stott, Wilkinson

Canada win the group with five points while China go through as runner-up with four points and better goal difference over Netherlands who will be hoping for a chance to go through as one of the best third placed teams.
