Joel Campbell featured in his 47th match for Costa Rica against Spain on Thursday and picked up his first assist of the Copa America competition.

The forward made a surging run down the left wing to retrieve the ball before dribbling inside and neatly passing it to Johan Venegas in the box, who slotted it home.

Although Costa Rico lost to Spain 2-1 with goals coming from Paco Alcacer and Cesc Fabregas, the assist marks the 22-year-old’s sixth assist for his country.

Campbell has been out on loan at Villarreal since January where unfortunately he’s only scored one goal and assisted one in 33 appearances. Whether he’ll return to Arsenal or not isn’t clear yet.
