The press in Italy are reporting that Arsenal have made an offer for Daniele Rugani. Or are preparing to. Or something.

This is, of course, not the first time that Arsenal have been linked with the player who is owned by Juventus, and the Old Lady are reluctant to let him go.

The story starts to fall apart when you realise that all the reports in Italy are based on one in Metro which claims that the Gunners are prepared to offer €18m for him in a bid to get the Italians to part with him.

In truth, it’s all very similar to a report that was around in the middle of last month, the only difference being the fee. At that time Arsenal were said to have offered €14m. Or were preparing to. Or something.

Arsene Wenger has already ruled out bringing in another central defender and with him bigging up Garbriel recently, we’ve no reason to do anything other than take him at his word.
