Despite talk of us being keen to renew Jack Wilshere’s contract, it seems we’re not in that much of a hurry and won’t be opening talks until next season.

The midfielder has three years left on his contract with the Gunners and therefore, the club apparently see no need to tie him down further at this moment in time.

Before anyone panics, if the reports are true, Arsenal wouldn’t be so casual about a new deal with the 23-year-old if we had even the faintest notion he might be leaving.

There’s been a lot of fuss around him moving away from the Emirates, with Manchester City being his rumoured destination, but Wilshere himself has said he wants to stay at Arsenal and the club are obviously satisfied enough to let contract negotiations wait.

For once, I’m actually very relaxed about the whole situation. I don’t see him wanting to leave and I certainly don’t see us selling him. There’s nothing to worry about, in my opinion.
